United Nations Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to provide clear guidelines for governments to address the world’s most significant challenges. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets further codify UN commitments to sustain our planet and protect the fundamental rights of every human being by 2030. Gender equality is a prerequisite for global sustainable development and a key tenet of the 2030 Agenda. Through SDG 5, governments, the UN and its agencies, and civil society are reminded that achieving gender equality requires eradicating violence and discrimination against women and girls.
The 5.2 Global Partnership is a civil society-led multistakeholder group dedicated to reaching Target 5.2 by 2030. Together with grassroots networks across the world and the UN, its agencies and regional bodies, the Partnership accelerates action and investments to end violence against women and girls, in particular human trafficking and sexual exploitation, sexual violence, and sexual harassment. It invites the collaboration and membership of the UN and its agencies, governments, the private sector, academia, philanthropic entities and individuals, and other members of civil society to reach these goals.
The Partnership welcomes alliances with UN agencies, governments and members of civil society. Please fill out the membership form to join.
